Northern German Champions after a gripping 3-set thriller: Samuelsen/Christesen
This heart-stopping final was already in the offing in the preliminary round: in a gripping final at the North German Championships on the Padel facility of the SC Condor Lennart Samuelsen/Malte Christesen held their own against Robert Kroll/Tim Neidhardt. In the end, shortly before nightfall, it was 6:7, 6:3 and 6:3 for the two number one seeds from Hamburg.
In the group match one day earlier, the eventual tournament winners won against Kroll/Neidhardt only in the tiebreak of the third set - all the more obvious how little difference there was between the two duos in the course of the tournament. The match for third place was won by the Weyher combination Yessa Jürgens/Alexander Schwarz.
For the first time, there was also a women's competition this year. No less than 5 pairs took part in the tournament, which was postponed to Sunday because of the bad weather. In a high-class final, Christina Benesch/Maria Sanchez won against Ulrike Lund/Biggi van Dahle-Schmees. The local heroes Ute Klawitter/Kirsten Witthöft came third.
